I wanted to make a final post at the end of 2009 summarizing the year and bidding good riddance to a year I would not miss. I was eager for 2009 to be over. It was an exhausting year with challenges that I was glad to see end. I just knew 2010 was going to bring with it a whole new outlook with fresh new opportunities. Ahhhhhh a new year, a new house, a new city and state, a new job, a new ward, a new outlook and a new beginning……………………………………
(……….if I had sound effect this is where you would hear the “bong bong” from the Law and Order television show.)
The beginning of 2010 brought the great flood!!!!! Yep, a new year, but same ol' crap.
Saturday we moved our refrigerator into the house we are renting. We hooked up the ice maker and left the house to run some errands and have dinner at my mom's. There was a crack in a little plastic piece on the back of the refrigerator and it was a very fast flowing leak. When we got home our house was flooded. There was about an inch or two of water that had spread through the kitchen, master bedroom, living room, dining room and entry. It was awful. We used the shop vac to vacuum up the water, then w pulled back the carpet and ripped up the pad. Now we have a giant loud fan blowing on everything to dry it out. I told Billy we should just rip up the carpet and we would just live on concrete for awhile......he said, "what concrete...the houses here are built on wood foundations". Well, hey, I'm a desert rat - every foundation I ever lived on was made of concrete not wood. I was in a house for goodness sakes, how was I supposed to know that Idaho has plywood foundation. Why would they do that? Now see - if it were concrete there wouldn't be a problem with wet wood and warping.
ANYWAY it looks like 2009 just passed the torch on to 2010.
Oh boy!

I think that it's too early to tell. I think 2010 just has a sense of humor, and it really WILL be a great year for you both!
HUGS!
