DOWNPOURS AND RAINBOWS

This is the end of the rainbow - right above my house.

A couple days after our house flooded it rained. That evening as the sun was beginning to set I noticed the most beautiul rainbow above my house. I ran to get my camera to try and capture the exquisite brillance of colors displayed against a backdrop of dismal gray. It was a ironic twist that such an appropriate symbol appeared following the recent events. I couldn't help but smile and say a small thank you for a divine message that may or may not have been meant for me.

Over the past few days I have thought about the thunderstorms and down pours that come with life. I am convinced that wading through these small floods teaches us to swim in deeper waters.
There have been times when I felt as though I were drowning, but inevitably I am blessed with the strength I need to keep treading water and stay afloat.

I imagine the "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow represents a different treasure for each of us. I loved seeing the rainbow ending right above my house. It reaffirms to me that I WILL weather the storms, and that the "pot of gold" I find at the end of the rainbow is my home and family. That will always be my greatest treasure.

My dear daughter, you will never know how much I hurt for you standing in all that mess. Wished I could make it all go away.
