These Are Two Of My Favorite Things!

Jesse and Stephanie moved to a new apartment this week, so I went to Pocatello to help them.
Amidst the work and chaos with twin two and a half year olds we had to take time to play.
Oh what fun they are!
Oh how I love them so!

Savannah - sweet little cuddle bug.

Quick Tour of Boise

Every day I find more reasons why I love living in Idaho.

Today Billy and I decided to go downtown and tour a little bit of historical Boise.

The weather was sunny and crisp with trees blossoming all around us.

It was beautiful.

I thought I'd share some of what we saw.

The capital buidling

This building has recently been renovated, and it was incredible to walk the halls where the state government is run. There is so much history in that building, and I imagined all the goings on over the last century.

I actually laid on the floor and looked up the dome to take this picture. My photography does not do justice to such great architecture.

These were seats for invited quests to view the Senate proceedings.

Downtown

There are many old houses that are, what I call, "plantation like". The neighborhoods are beautiful in the summer and fall when the old, giant trees are filled with leaves.

Old Downtown building.

NEW Downtown building

There are MANY different denominations of churchs downtown with buildings that are old and ornate.

I think I was buggin' this guy.

After we finished touring downtown we decided to go up into the foothills and do some hiking. There are trails by the hundreds around here with streams, ponds and lakes
that provide a variety of wildlife.

This stream ran along side the trail we were walking on.

The holes in the side of the hill are where birds nest. The dirt is soft so it's easy for them to peck out the right size hole.

Our last stop was this pond at the end of the trail where we were serenaded by some beautiful black birds with red wings. It was a full day with lots of walking.
It was fun.

Happy Easter 2010

Happy Easter 2010
It was a great Easter. My niece, Gracie, came to visit which made for fun, laughter, and a little shopping.
This morning I made my traditional Easter cake.

Then we went to Grandma's house to color eggs, and eat dinner.
It was a good time - great day - relaxing!!!!

SPRING IN MY BACKYARD

Welcome to spring in Idaho! Welcome to my backyard. How can anyone NOT love this place? I couldn't believe it today when Billy called me out to the backyard to see our newest visitors, Mr and Mrs. Mallard. They were eating some of the corn we had left for, Rocky, our neighborhood squirrel. Mr. and Mrs. Robin have been building a nest in one of the trees and I welcome their song as they busily work. I love Idaho!!!

Lost: Phone Charger Chord

Do you see the white chord in this picture? That is my phone charger, and that was the last time I saw it.It has disappeared...poof...off the planet. It is no where to be found, and I feel like I've looked EVERYWHERE!!!!! I believe the thief is the cute little girl in the picture. She has brown eyes, brown hair and can easily persuade her "mama J" into allowing her to play games on the iphone. Sooooooooooooo now what to do? If I were a two and a half year old what would I have done with a phone chord? Hmmmmm...........any ideas?

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!

We found out Tuesday that Josh and Nicole are having a boy. Cooper David Craig will be born in August and we are so excited to welcome him to the family. This will make three grands for me - two beautiful girls and now one little boy.

Here is the first picture of the little guy - I think he is beautiful.

As I look at this sweet little spirit forming inside his mother I already love him so much.

I am excited to watch my son raise HIS son.........it will definitely be an experience.

First Signs Of Spring

Look at this beauty! He was singing in a tree in my front yard yesterday. He represents the onset of warm weather and new life. I love to watch the Robin's all day process of gathering bugs and worms for their growing babies.

The tulips, too, are making their entrance. My front yard is full of them, and I'm very excited to enjoy their beauty. One thing I loved about going to Women's Conference in Provo each year was to see the millions of tulips on Temple Square. This year I will be able to have a little piece of that beauty in my own front yard.

Welcome Spring!
