Sunshine
Billy and I took a quick trip to Vegas this weekend. While there I was reminded of the abundant sunshine I enjoyed while living in the southwest desert. The weather was beautiful and the sun felt good as its warmth soaked into my body.
Yesterday as we crossed back over the border into Idaho I noticed the clouds ahead of us. I glanced back to see we were leaving the sun and clear sky behind. It seemed a little symbolic to me as I realized while living in Las Vegas life was, for the most part, easy, non-stressful, and ran along quite well. Since moving to Idaho I have endured challenges I’ve never before faced along with drearier, rainy days, and much less sunshine.
I thought how easy it is to take for granted those easy times. I took for granted the sunshine, and BECAUSE those times were brighter I often overlooked the warmth that radiates from another source of light. Since my life ran along pretty smooth my practice of prayer was not as faithful as it should have been. The dreary times I now experience have helped me to realize how important both sources of light can be in my life. I am very aware that I need to hold on to the spiritual light every day with constant communication through prayer. When problems and trials cloud my life I am blessed to know that the brightness of hope can shine through the darkest of day. I appreciate a day filled with the warming sun shining through my windows, and I also appreciate the warmth from my Savior's love as it penetrates and comforts my soul.

Snake River Canyon
We drove through Twin Falls this morning and witnessed the most beautiful scene. The Snake River Canyon was filled with clouds. I had to stop to try and capture it on film.
The highway crosses the canyon and many times we have seen people base jumping from this bridge. It's an amazing sight to watch.

MAD HATTER
I opened Billy's closet tonight to get some shirts out to iron and I noticed his hats. He had arranged his own closet in this new house and I hadn't even paid any attention until now. I was shocked at how many hats there were. I counted FIFTY - that is 5 - 0 - FIFTY hats.
Now I will just sit back and wait for him to make a comment on the number of shoes I have in MY closet.
