Saturday Bike Ride
Saturday Billy and I rode our bikes down the Greenbelt in Boise.
The ride took us through two beautiful parks along the Boise River.
The weather was perfect, and the scenery amazing. I know I've been here
for 9 months, but I'm still in the honeymoon period where everything is
new and exciting. I love the trees, the flowers, the water, the animals, the
birds - the "green". This may not be the most beautiful place in
the world, but for me coming from the desert, it seems like paradise.

We rode twenty miles total.
Look at this sweet little lady.
She was so good to hold her pose long enough
for me to snap a picture.

Little Girls in Tutus
I enjoyed every part of raising boys. I remember as a young girl wanting boys instead of girls.
But oh my, look at these little princesses.

My Backyard Friends
Yesterday I heard this strange pounding noise coming from this tree across the street.
The culprit was this tiny little guy we know as, Woody Woodpecker.
Goslings!
Newest members of the pond across the street.

These Are Two Of My Favorite Things!
Jesse and Stephanie moved to a new apartment this week, so I went to Pocatello to help them.
Amidst the work and chaos with twin two and a half year olds we had to take time to play.
Oh what fun they are!
Oh how I love them so!

Quick Tour of Boise
Today Billy and I decided to go downtown and tour a little bit of historical Boise.
The weather was sunny and crisp with trees blossoming all around us.
It was beautiful.
I thought I'd share some of what we saw.
This building has recently been renovated, and it was incredible to walk the halls where the state government is run. There is so much history in that building, and I imagined all the goings on over the last century.
I actually laid on the floor and looked up the dome to take this picture. My photography does not do justice to such great architecture.
These were seats for invited quests to view the Senate proceedings.
Downtown
There are many old houses that are, what I call, "plantation like". The neighborhoods are beautiful in the summer and fall when the old, giant trees are filled with leaves.

There are MANY different denominations of churchs downtown with buildings that are old and ornate.
I think I was buggin' this guy.

After we finished touring downtown we decided to go up into the foothills and do some hiking. There are trails by the hundreds around here with streams, ponds and lakes
that provide a variety of wildlife.
that provide a variety of wildlife.
This stream ran along side the trail we were walking on.
The holes in the side of the hill are where birds nest. The dirt is soft so it's easy for them to peck out the right size hole.
Our last stop was this pond at the end of the trail where we were serenaded by some beautiful black birds with red wings. It was a full day with lots of walking.
It was fun.
